ORRC Wildwood Trail Trial

Oregon Road Runners Club

23rd Annual Wildwood Trail Trial

Monday, September 2, 2013 (Labor Day)

10K

This unique event runs along Portland’s scenic Wildwood Trail in Forest Park.  Bring a great finish to summer by running or walking in the largest naturally forested urban park in the USA. Instead of a single start time, you may run anytime within a four hour window. This race is part of the ORRC 10K series. Walkers are welcome.

THE COURSE

The trail is packed earth with many turns. It has mostly good surfaces, but has some rocks, roots and occasional slugs. The course starts at the junction of Wildwood Trail and Fire Lane 1, proceeds south on Wildwood Trail until the finish at Upper MacLeay Park (approx. 5151 NW Cornell Road). There is a 650 ft elevation loss in the first 5.7 miles and a 200 ft climb in the last half mile.  This is NOT a closed course, so you can expect to share the trail with other runners, walkers, and leashed dogs.  Please be courteous and friendly to others sharing the trail. Download a map here.
